Abstract submission walkthrough
This walkthrough should help you through the online abstract submission process. In case you have questions, please contact the Conference Department.
Login/Create an Account
You will be asked to create an account. The same account is used for registration, accommodation booking, as well as reviewing, editing and submitting abstracts. After filling in the requested information, you will receive a confirmation email with your login information. If you have already created an account, you may use the same "User name" and "Password" to log in. In case you have forgotten your password, click 'Forgot password' or contact the Conference Department. You will receive your new password by email.
First page
On the first page you will find a list of the abstracts that you may already have submitted for the Conference. Each of them may be edited by clicking the Edit button next to the Abstract title. For submitting a new abstract, please go to the bottom of the page, confirm the submission guidelines acceptance and click the 'Submit new abstract' button.
Abstract Submission - Step 1 - Address
The Submitter may be different from the Presenting Author. In case you are a Submitter proceed to next step. In case you are submitting an abstract on behalf of another Presenting Author, please click the 'Change Presenting Author' button and fill in the Presenting Author's details, click the 'Change Presenting Author' and continue to the next step.
Abstract Submission - Step 2 - Preferences
Select your preferred presentation type from the drop-down list. Next, please indicate whether you are willing to be considered for chairing a session and in which strand. In case you are submitting an abstract for a panel/symposium /round table please do not forget to fill in the field that refers to the proposed session chair.
Abstract Submission - Step 3 - Abstract title
Add your abstract title in the text field. The title should not exceed 20 words. The field is mandatory.
Abstract Submission - Step 4 - Text
Follow the guidelines for presentation published on the website. You can paste the text from MS Word. To do so select the text in MS Word, press CTRL+C to place the text to the clipboard, go to the submission website and the 'Paste from Word' button (
) will appear active in the editor toolbar - click it and the text will be inserted (MS Explorer). Alternatively the insert field window will pop-up. In this case, press CTRL+V to paste the text and click the 'Paste' button to insert the text (Mozilla Firefox). If you need to insert any special characters, you can use the 'Insert symbol' button (
) from the editor toolbar.
Abstract Submission - Step 5 - Keywords
You may insert up to 5 keywords. Type the keyword to the textbox and click 'Add keyword' button. Keyword is included and mentioned above and textbox for another keyword appears.
Abstract Submission - Step 6 - Authors
The Presenting Author selected in Step 1 is automatically prefilled in the relevant checkbox. If you agree that the Presenting Author should be listed first, click the 'Add' button. Next add the data refering to the co-authors in the relevant text-boxes and click the "Add" button.The names of added authors can be reviewed, edited or deleted from the list at the top of the page. At the bottom of the page the section "Formated co-authors" displays how the abstract will look in the Abstract book.
Abstract Submission - Step 7 - Disclosure
Please mention any conflict of interrest - check "I have a potential conflict of interest to disclosure" and include the information in the textbox below. In case you have no conflict to report check "I have no potential conflict of interest to disclose" and move to final submission.
Abstract Submission - Step 8 - Overview
You can review your abstract here. In case you did not fill in any mandatory fields, you will be notified and asked to complete them. At the bottom of the page, the "SAVE AND CLOSE" button should be clicked to forward he abstract to the database. It will be available for reviewing and editing until the abstract submission deadline – April 15, 2012).
